Quick Answer
What a fence costs in Dallas-Fort Worth depends on the material, height, total linear feet, gates, removal of the old fence, slope or rock on the site, and permits. Cedar prices have moved with lumber tariffs since late 2025. S&B Fencing measures your property at a free on-site consultation and prices it from there.

Why Cedar Prices Change
Cedar prices have moved with lumber tariffs since late 2025.
How to Measure Your Fence Line
- 1Walk the line you want fenced and measure each side in feet with a tape or measuring wheel.
- 2Add the sides together for your total linear feet. Leave out any side your house or an existing fence already covers.
- 3Mark where each gate goes and how wide each opening needs to be.
- 4Note slopes, trees, rock and drainage along the line.
- 5Check your property survey or plat for property lines before the fence goes in.
HOA and Permit Timing
Start your HOA application early. Texas law sets no approval deadline; the timing comes from your HOA's own requirements.
We give you the fence details your HOA asks for (style, height, materials and layout). The homeowner completes and submits the application.
We pull the city permit whenever your town requires one. You provide the property site plan.
